National

The Jordanian Penal Code provides -

Article 298

1. Whoever without violence or intimidation commits an indecent act on a child under 15 years old or persuades him/her to commit an indecent act shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment with hard labour.

2. The term of imprisonment shall not be less than 5 years if the child is under 12 years old.

Article 299

Any person such as those described in Article 295 who commits an indecent act on individual, male or female, aged over 15 years but and under 18, or persuades him/her to commit an indecent act shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment with hard labour.

Article 306

Whoever solicits an indecent act from a boy or a girl under 15 years of age or uses indecent terms to address him/her shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding 25 Jordanian Dinars. [R1.1].

In September 1998, Jordan's Health Ministry reported that the nation deported 26 HIV positive foreigners whose infections were detected during mandatory medical examinations required to obtain work and residency permits [R1.1].

Jordan is reported to quarantine HIV+ people [R1.1].

Since 1951, consensual sex between same-sex couples has reportedly been lawful [R1.1].
